Abstract
It is an honour and a privilege for me to speak to you today, as we celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Geneva Convention.This commemoration is of special significance in that the Geneva Convention—which deals with the situation of war wounded—was the first text providing for international humanitarian action and regulating individual behaviour in certain defined circumstances.
