Valerie McKnight Hashemi (ne´e Meredith) holds a BSc (Hons) in politics and history from the University of Wales in Aberystwyth and an MA from Essex University. She has been a Delegate for the International Committee of the Red Cross in various contexts and at headquarters since 2006, specializing in the protection of separated families, missing persons and detainees. She currently works as an Archivist at the ICRC’s Central Tracing Agency and Protection Division archives in Geneva.
