David Forsythe is the Charles J. Mach Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA. He was a consultant to the Joint Committee for the Re-Appraisal of the Role of the Red Cross, whose Final Report («Tansley Report») appeared in 1975. He is the author of Humanitarian Politics: The International Committee of the Red Cross, Johns Hopkins, 1977, and shorter analyses of the ICRC and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
