Juan José Quintana is a First Secretary in the Colombian Foreign Service. A graduate in International Relations and Diplomacy, he has followed courses in public international law at the Hague Academy of International Law. He is the author of various articles on the International Court of Justice, including “The Latin American contribution to international adjudication: the case of the ICJ”, published in a special issue of the Netherlands International Law Review entitled “Five hundred years since the rediscovery of the Americas” (Vol. XXXIX/1992–1). Mr. Quintana is Assistant Professor of International Law at the Diplomatic Academy of San Carlos, Bogotá, Colombia.
