Dr. Jean Guillermand, b. 1921 in Lyon. Doctor of Medicine (1946). Armed Forces Medical Corps: medical officer in armed forces hospitals, head of department in Grenoble and Medea from 1951 to 1970; chief medical officer, armed forces hospital in Dijon from 1970 to 1974; in charge of hospital organization at the Armed Forces Medical Corps Central Directorate from 1974 to 1983. French Red Cross administrator, representing the Armed Forces Medical Corps, from 1981 to 1983. Author of Vol. I of the Histoire de la Médecine aux Armées (Lavauzelle, 1982) and the Histoire des Infirmières France-Séléction, 1988), of communiqués, reports and articles. Secretary General of the Comité d'Histoire du Service de Santé from 1981 to 1983.
