Historian Hélène Dumas is a Research Fellow at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Institut d’Histoire du Temps Present. She is researching the history of the Tutsi genocide from the angle of historical anthropology. After exploring the mechanisms by which the genocide was carried out at a local level (Le genocide au village: Le massacre des Tutsi au Rwanda, Seuil, Paris, 2014), she is currently focusing her research on the experiences of the survivors.
