Hilaire McCoubrey is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Director of the Centre for International Defence Law Studies at the University of Nottingham. He is also a member of the Council of the British Red Cross Society and Chair of its Principles and Law Panel. His published books include, International Humanitarian Law (Dartmouth 1990), International Law and Armed Conflict, with N. D. White (Dartmouth 1992) and International Organizations and Civil Wars, with N. D. White (Dartmouth, 1995) as well as a number of articles in the field of international humanitarian law.
