Eric David successfully completed graduate work at the University of Brussels with a thesis entitled Mercenaires et volontaires internationaux en droit des gens which was published by the University of Brussels in 1978. He is currently a lecturer at the faculty of law of the University of Brussels where he teaches the law of international organizations, international penal law, the law of armed conflicts and the settling of international differences. He is the author of Principles de droit des conflits armés , Bruylant, Brussels, 1994, which was awarded the Paul Reuter Prize in 1994.
